Some notes about your Moon Ship- Designed back in 1959 as a laboratory and living quarters for its three man crew, the Moon Ship was the type of vehicle which they imagined would be used on the first lunar exploration expeditions. Once free of its giant booster rockets, the Moon Ship would be propelled in space by its own nuclear power plant. Approximately five days after blast-off, it would make its landing in one of the giant Moon craters, probably Plato. Once the landing was made, the crew, clad in special space suits, would spend two days making scientific observations on the lunar surface. When their work was completed, they would blast off from the Moon for the return trip to Earth. The crew would consist of a Pilot, Navigator, and a Flight Engineer. Each of these men would also be accomplished scientists capable of making every minute on the Moon count.

Moon Ship
I really enjoyed building the kit. It had minimal flash along the tail area but fit together fairly well. I chose my own decal placement and they went on without issue. I primarily used Tamiya spray primer with their spray paint which laid down well. I’m primarily a car modeler but Atlantis is returning me to the kits I built as a kid. Keep the classics coming!

Great reissue of a classic kit.

Pretty decent for a kit from molds which are around a half century old. There is going to be a problem with attaching part 18, the landing skid, since the forward slot in part 6, the fuselage bottom half, for the skid's forward strut is out of line by about five degrees clockwise. Recessed panel lines on fuselage exterior are a nice touch; they are fine and shallow, go light on the paint. Crew figures are nicely sized for the scale though all three of them could easily make the basketball team.

MOON SHIP PLASTIC MODEL KIT 1/96 ATLANTIS
At long last! Been looking for one of these for decades, and now I finally have one. Very pleased. Takes me waaaay back to the '60's, and the dreams of immanent spaceflight we all shared. Where's my jet-mobile?

This is outstanding, no discernable flash. Beautiful decals. Nice instruction
