Great service as usual. This stand reminds me of the old box scale kits that I built when I was a kid. Good stuff
A faithful reproduction of the Revell swivel stand
Great to have these display bases available again. Same as the Revell bases except for "Revell" being replaced by "Atlantis" and the swivel being white, which I assume is more durable. I'll modify a seaplane model I have to mount on this Atlantis base.
Absolutely the best and quite happy to see them available individually.. A number of the original Revell kits did not come with these stands (The box scale B-52 kit comes to mind) so these are a nice upgrade. As for the reviews that mention the ball part not being in clear plastic - there is a reason for that. The clear plastic is more brittle than the colored plastic. If molded in clear, the "neck" area of the ball part would break very easily.
Very nice retro display stand. Harkens back to a time when all aircraft / spacecraft had display bases, and they still should.
This display base is a reproduction of the famous Revell "Revellving" display stand that came with many of that company's box scale aircraft models during the 1950's. The clear styrene plastic base featured a global mercator motif of parallels and meridians, with a circular area in which to place the decal that included the aircraft's name and manufacturer's logo. Classy way to display your model on a desktop or bookshelf - and tell admirers a little about the subject. Nice to have available again. There is an aesthetic quality to displaying aircraft as they appear in flight.
Atlantis has updated the writing molded on the stand's base. Now it credits Atlantis instead of Revell. Good for building some of the old Revell kits in your stash that no longer had the stands included. Also works on many other brands of kits, just be careful of the size you put on it! I would make the suggestion that in future releases to mold the ball in clear plastic. I'm pretty sure the Revell stands sold individually years ago had the balls in clear. This is a very minor matter, not even a problem!
The old Revell writing around around the center has been replaced with Atlantis information keeping original Revell stands collectible. Would give it a five if the mounting ball was molded in clear plastic instead of the noticeable white.
