Growing up I wasn't able to get a whole lot of the Aurora armor kits, and the only two I ever had were the Sherman and the Centurion. I always saw this kit in the catalogs at the time and wanted it but never was able to get it. When Atlantis reissued the M-109 I just had to get it. It's been a fun build and close to completing my pre-order kit. I have a second one on the way and hopefully plan to build a diorama with both in it. Thank You, Atlantis for resurrecting all of these vintage kits from days gone by, and hope you can come out with more of these old tank kits if possible.
I had reservations about this model, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the parts fit together. I really liked building this kit, and I hope Atlantis re-releases the aurora mbt-70 kit.
I ordered my kit from the webpage catalog, The kit arrived within 2 weeks. The kit is molded in olive drab plastic with black vinyl tracks. On my initial inspection, i noticed a very small amount of flash on a few parts, mainly the 50 caliber machine gun. The assembly process was very straight forward and enjoyable. This was a easy build and assembly was completed in one night, The next evening I completed prep work and painting. After paint was dry a gloss coat of clear was applied and then the kit decals were applied, No setting solutions were used, The next morning I sprayed on Dull Coat to seal the decals, I added the vinyl tracks and I was finished. While I am not normally armor builder I found the Howitzer a very easy and fun kit. Thanks to everyone at Atlantis Models for returning and restoring these favorite kits to us.
Nice to have the access to purchase the old favourite kits. Thanks Guys!
